Why I Love Using Char-Griller Smokin Pro 830?

Smokin Pro 830 is a grill and smoker that I’ve personally tried my hands on, as one of my friends own it. We use it in every other party he throws in his backyard to cook smoky and savory cuisines.

Here’s what I like about this smoker:

Durability at its Best

Smokers should be durable, as they have to withstand a lot, such as high cooking temperatures and harsh weather. It has been a year since my friend owns this smoker, and it’s still in good shape.

The primary chamber is made up of heavy-gauge steel that feels durable and is heavy. Furthermore, the powder coating protects it from corrosion and doesn’t chip or peel off easily.

I inspected the smoker thoroughly to look for any damages before writing this review. It is still as good as new.

The other elements such as the wheels and the wooden handles are also durable and sturdy.

An Easy-to-Use Smoker

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Char-Griller E1244 is an easy-to-use smoker. I had no idea about how to use smokers, and it wasn’t difficult at all to use it for the first time.

The smoker has two big handles attached to the primary cooking chamber and the firebox, so you can quickly open them to access the cooking area.

Putting in charcoal is also easy as the firebox comes with a pull-out drawer that makes it easier to dump out the ash after cooking.

The thing that impressed me the most is the wooden shelves for organizing the ingredients. Also, the height-adjustable grates add a nice touch to the smoker and make the grilling and smoking session even convenient.

How Does the Smoker Work?

Char-Griller E1244 is based on the principle of a traditional offset smoker. The machine comes with a firebox attached to the right side.

You can quickly ignite the flame inside the box using a starter chimney. In my experience, It was easy to find out how it works.

When you put the burning fuel inside the firebox, the smoke starts entering the primary chamber. It cooks the meat or other cuisines evenly.

The dampers attached to the smoker are there to control the flow of smoke and temperature. Thankfully, they don’t get heated even when the smoker is operating at the highest temperature.

Easy to Clean

Cleaning Char-Griller 1244 Smokin Pro is relatively easy when compared to other charcoal smokers and grillers. The grates come with a non-stick coating, so the grease comes off quickly; all you need is steel wool and a good cleaning solution.

Furthermore, you can remove the grates to access the coal bed to scrape off the grease and pieces of meat. The non-stick layer on the grates protects them from getting scratched and curtails the chances of corrosion and mold formation.

Bigger Cooking Space, but Compact Design

Char-Griller E1244 Smokin Pro 830 looks small and compact. Still, it accommodates a big grate that can easily feed everyone in a small gathering.

You get two cooking spaces, 580 Sq. Inches in the primary chamber, and 280 sq. inches in the firebox. The total cooking space is around 830 sq. inches, so it’s perfect for cooking those big cuts of meat.

A Portable Smoker

One thing that I hate about smokers is that they are challenging to move. But this is not the case with Char-Griller E1244. It comes with over-sized wheels that feel durable and roll smoothly in the grass and on gravels.

There’s a handle attached to the firebox, so you can pull it to store it. However, I felt that the handle could’ve been bigger. It’s a bit small, and you can put only one hand in it.

Multiple Organization Shelves

The griller/smoker comes with three shelves—two wooden shelves on the top and one steel mesh shelf on the bottom. You can keep the ingredients and utensils on the grill securely, and there’s no need to put an extra table around the smoker just for the sake of placing your stuff.

Onboard Temperature Gauge

This is another thing I find impressive in this smoker. It comes with a built-in temperature gauge that shows accurate readings, and there’s no need to use a separate thermometer to ensure that you don’t overcook the meat.

Verdict

Char-Griller 1244 Smokin Pro 830 is a durable smoker that you can use as a grill as well, so it ends up being a value-for-money option.

It is compact, easy to use, and offers you ample cooking space. I had a great experience using this smoker, and I am happy with its performance.

In a nutshell, Char-Griller E1244 Smokin Pro 830 is the best cheap smoker to go for, if you need a smoker or a grill that lets you cook conveniently.

Check out the smoker and buy it if you love eating smoky-flavored meat cooked at home.
